At Barking Preschool we follow The Early Years Foundation Stage Framework.

Communication And Language 
Encourage and create a language rich environment.
Giving the children the resources to communicate
effectively and develop their language.

Physical Development 
Develop both gross and fine motor skills. Allowing children to take positive risks exploring the environment and developing their gross motor skills . Using and gaining the necessary skills to make small movements like mark making and threading.

Personal Social And Emotional Development 
Provide a safe and nurturing environment
for children to express their emotions,
make friends, taking turns and looking after
themselves and others. To take part in their own
self-care, being able to dress themselves, use the
​toilet and eat healthily

Understanding The World
Learn and take part celebrating holidays, festivals, celebrations and special events. Find out about our community, people that help us and why and how things work

Mathematics
Provide an environment enriched with numbers,
shapes and patterns, weight and height. This will be 
done using displays and activities throughout the setting.

Have group times where we sing nursery rhymes, read stories, recognise our names and letter sounds.

Expressive Arts And Design
Provide an environment to explore, use imagination
and be creative. Role play areas, musical instruments
and unlimited access to craft resources.
