Barking Preschool is run by a committed and enthusiastic team of staff, who work hard to organise a wide variety of fun and educational activities to meet the individual needs of all children. The group is well equipped with a wide range of resources and has a spacious area within which to play. There is also a large secure garden behind the hall for outdoor play.
We believe in good parent partnerships and acknowledge children reach their full potential whilst engaging in activities based around their individual interests.
Staff will create an 'On-line Learning Journey' for each child which will show their wow moments with photographs .This app is available for parents/carers to access and contribute to at any time. We ask that you fill in the 'All About Me' form on Tapestry to help us get to know your child before they start.
Our session times are:
Monday to Friday Term Time Only
Full Day 9:30 am - 15:30pm
Morning Session 9:30 - 12:30
Afternoon Session 12:30 - 15:30
We offer a Lunch Club based on availability -12.30pm -1.15pm
Early Years funding is available for eligible 2, 3 and 4 year olds.

Our setting has a designated person to oversee the Safeguarding and Welfare requirements of children and their families in addition to a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinator (SENCo) for children who require any additional support.
We encourage you to organise a visit to the setting so you can meet the team and get to know the environment. We can answer any questions you may have. Before your child starts they will be invited to have a free 2 hour settling in session.
2 Year Checks
Before your child turns 3 their Key Person will write a summary on the 3 Prime Areas of Learning, Communication and Language, Physical Development and Personal, Social and Emotional Development. This is a legal document for every child. Parents/carers will be invited in to the setting to discuss with their child's Key Person their views on their child's stage of development and any needs or concerns they might have. This will help provide an accurate in depth report.
End Of Term Summaries
At the end of term each child's Key Person will complete an End Of Term summary outlining your child's achievements and any next steps we will be working on in the next term. Alongside this we invite parents to organise a time for a meeting if they wish to discuss your child's learning.
Key Person
When your child starts they will be allocated a Key Person. The Key persons role is to build a good relationship with the child and to develop their learning. They will plan activities and extend learning opportunities based on your child's interests. Your child's Key person will help your child feel secure and safe in the Preschool environment. We also have a buddy system where each key person has a buddy who will take over in the absence of the child's Key Person
